This past Spring, we had a pretty big health scare in our home and it forced us to change our entire thought process about food. From when we eat to what we eat and even how we eat. While it was pretty overwhelming now, we have started to really get into a groove and it has become our new normal.
I am really excited to share some of the things we have been doing to try and and eat healthier every day.

7 Things I Do to Try and Eat Healthy Everyday
We have been buying lots of greens. We’ve been starting every lunch and dinner with a big green salad. Not just romaine, but spinach, spring mix, cucumbers, and more. We go very light on the dressing, usually just using a little bit of oil and vinegar with herbs.
We said good bye to sweets and bread. It’s a rough road, especially when sweets and bread is almost like an addiction as it is for me! We’ve been enjoying fruits and lemon water over sugary treats and drinks. Of course, every now and then we do indulge, but it’s become few and far between.
We pre-package our snacks. I buy nuts and seeds in bulk and then package them into sandwiches bags according to a serving size.
We grow our own herbs. This is nothing new though! We love growing a little herb garden with parsley, cilantro and basil to just name a few!
We don’t skip meals. It’s completely counterproductive to skip meals. You end up crashing your metabolism and usually overeating at your next meal.
We drink a lot of water – almost a gallon a day!
Prepare for the unexpected. Eating take out and fast food really does not have a place in our life currently. But, sometimes after a busy day out, the thought of cooking is daunting! That’s why we started keeping Perfect Fit Meals in our fridge!

I was shocked the first time I tried these meals because they literally tasted as if I just finished cooking my dinner from scratch. The flavors are so vibrant and fresh tasting. One of my favorites was the Roasted Pork Loin.
I was able to find Perfect Fit Meals at my local ShopRite store, but you can search on their website to find where they are located by you!
