When you find a product you love, you will do whatever you can to incorporate it into your life. Maple Syrup has a special place in my heart. At the end of the winter, my family loves to visit local farms to enjoy fresh from the tap maple syrup. It’s amazing how hard one must work for just a little bit of deliciousness! Did you know that it takes about 50 gallons of sap to create 1 gallon of delicious syrup?
Everyone always thinks of drizzling maple syrup on their favorite pancake recipe, but it can be used for so much more! Like in this delicious Maple Cream Pie I made using Crown Maple Syrup.
Making a cream pie is as easy as, well…pie! I always love a flavorful dessert because you only need a small slice to get your fill of it’s deliciousness.
Maple Cream Pie
Maple Cream Pie
Delicious, Creamy Maple Cream Pie
- 1 graham cracker crust
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 3/4 cups sugar
- 4 tbsp cornstarch
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1/4 cup Crown Maple Amber Color Maple Syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 4 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
In a medium pot, melt 4 tbsp butter. Stir in heavy cream.
Add cornstarch and sugar, mix together and cook on medium heat until the mixture has thickened, about 5 minutes.
Stir in Crown Maple Amber Color syrup and vanilla extract.
Place graham cracker crust into a pie dish. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Pour maple cream mixture into crust.
Melt remaining 4 tbsp of butter and drizzle on top of pie.
Sprinkle sugar on top and then sprinkle the cinnamon.
Bake about 25 minutes. You will find it is done when the crust has browned, the filling bubbles. The center will be slightly shaky.
Cool on the counter and then move to the refrigerator to set for 2-3 hours before serving.
Notice how the top of the pie has a crunch to it? That is thanks to the Crown Maple syrup. It enhances the depth of sweetness & caramelization.
One of the highlights of my trip to Natural Products Expo West this past March was meeting Crown Maple CEO, Mike Cobb. Mike was super generous letting us try pretty much every single Crown Maple product and I still cannot decide which one is my favorite, they are all that good!
In 2010, Crown Maple created a new maple standard by introducing estate-produced, select quality maple syrup from their 800-acre organic maple farm in New York’s Hudson Valley. The Crown Maple production process is under 18 hours, that’s from the trees to the barrels and the staff taste tests each and every barrel (a job I’d love to have).
Crown Maple is the fastest growing national Brand of maple syrup and is THE BEST NATURE HAS TO OFFER ™ being how it is certified organic, sustainable, earth-friendly, full of antioxidants and is plant based. It is also gluten free, GMO free, contains no artificial ingredients or preservatives. I recently started swapping other sweeteners for Crown Maple syrups in my oatmeal, yogurt and coffee.
