Top 10 Favorites From The New York Baby Show
*Thank you to Mom Trends Media for sponsoring this post.
Every spring in May companies catering to families from around the world descend on New York City for The New York Baby Show. Over 5,000 families registered for this years event making it the biggest yet! The show featured more than 200 vendors offering a variety of pre and post natal products and services, seminars hosted by special guest speakers, family entertainment, lounge areas for moms and dads, play areas and the blogger lounge hosted by Momtrends – this is where local bloggers hang out and relax.
Even though my kids have aged out of the New York Baby Show I still enjoy going to get a glimpse of all the great must have baby products I wish were around when my kids were smaller. Here are my 10 favorites:
These adorable delivery boxes celebrate your new baby from birth through the first year. There are four and each highlight every new milestone your baby reaches. There’s Noobie Nest (newborn), Noobie Eat (4 months+), Noobie Play (7 months+), Noobie One (10 months+). They includes samples of some of the best products on the market today, as well as coupons to help you save a few coins since baby’s can be quite costly. There’s also the special Year of Wonders box where you can purchase four boxes
Every new mom, and those who are yet to become moms have I the mamaRoo (above)on her must-have list. If you think this is some ordinary rocker you’d be
slightly wholly mistaken. The maaRoo stands apart from all other because of its smooth bouncing and swaying motions that resembles parents comforting their babies. 4MOMS is also winning in other areas of parenthood – their sleek high chairs come with magnet trays! Used with their magnetic bowls baby’s spaghetti bowl won’t end up on the floor.
Diaper bags are one of the many things that have come a long way over the last seven years. Long gone are the old school bags that pretty much let everyone know what it was and when your child outgrew it you pretty much trashed it. Petunina has changed the game with their chic diaper bags that can carry diapers and bottles for baby’s first year to your laptop and other work items as you walk said baby, now five years old, to their first say of school.
If you travel alot, whether it be a road trip or overseas, then I would consider the Austlen. It allows you pack almost your entire life in your stroller. Perfect for afternoons at the park. Why lug the cooler to Central Park when there’s room for it on the stroller. Have a lot of groceries? No worries. They’ll fit too. Luggage? Boom! This stroller can handle up to 150lbs and has 30 configurations! Thirty. Let that sink in. And since you’re able to pack your whole life onto this stroller that means its must be sturdy and solid, which means its heavy. And it is, about 30lbs. But the way its built limits how often you would really have to pick it up. It breaks down just as small as any other stroller and due to its height it can wheel itself right into your trunk.
Moms are always worried about what our children are consuming, so it naturally makes sense that Thinkbaby chemical free products are a must have. Thinkbaby is the first 100% BPA free baby bottle line, they have soft silicone spouts and straws to ease the transition from breast or bottle feeding, and they reduce environmental waste. Another great thing about Thinkbaby is that their cups grow with your child – from infant to toddler.
I didn’t really know too much about baby wrapping. I was a typical baby carrying mom, and looking back I wish I would have looked into other less painful alternatives then I would have found Cassiope Woven. These beautifully handmade wraps are produced right here in the USA with recycled materials that are designed to keep baby warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Their durability and how snug and safe they keep baby, in addition to removing pain and pressure off the wearers back and shoulders makes me want to make sure all moms know baby wrapping is a thing you should consider. Your back will thank you.
I don’t care how old kids are they are notorious for accumulating a lot of crap. And heaven forbid you try to throw it out. They will remember some toy they got out of a happy meal 2 years ago. It is this reason why I love storage bins. The Shaka Attack bins are fun handcrafted bins with zipper closure to help clear the floor or play area of our kids random toys. These soft to the touch machine washable containers are meant to stimulate kids imagination and also get them to learn more about animals.
MUNCHKIN GRASS FED FORMULA & TODDLER DRINK
My children were both formula fed as my milk didn’t last very long and my second didn’t like it so I had to cut it with formula. There is a lot of talk about what goes into formula and its effects on babies. Munchkin is taking it to the next level with their New Zealand based 100% certified farm fresh formula that is GMO, rBGH and grain FREE! It has an ideal balance of essential fatty acids and contains vitamin A and E. While Munchkin is bringing happy formula from happy cows to your happy family they (and I) also promote providing your baby breast milk for as long as possible due to the benefits it offers babies. But if you’re forced (or just want) to formula feed I’d recommend taking checking out Munchkin.
The Perch high chair is a game changer. Why? It hooks right on to the table. Boom! I love this chair because it’s perfect for small spaces because it lacks the clunky base, folds flat for travel and it’s light weight and design is beyond chic. Guzzie & Guss makes using this chair a snap, by literally screwing the chair to any secure table and the part are the slip free grips that will leave no marks on your table or counter top.
