Green Tea Bundt Cake
For years, I have been hearing about the goodness of green tea. I have to be honest, I never enjoyed it. That is until I met The Republic of Tea at the Summer Fancy Food Show while I was on the Mom Blog Tour.
The Republic of Tea has been the leading purveyor of tea since 1992, offering a collection of over 300 of the highest-quality teas, herbal blends and gifts. What changed the way I thought about green tea was learning how to properly enjoy it.
The Republic of Tea recommends two tea bags in hot water. You do not want your water boiling, instead it is done after the as the Chinese say the first puff of steam or as the Japanese say, after there are fish eye sized bubbles. Steep your tea bag for just three minutes, otherwise you will start to taste bitter notes.
The Republic of Tea emphasizes a “Sip by Sip Rather Than Gulp by Gulp” lifestyle, as for thousands of years, people have sipped green tea to stay healthy. The Mom Blog Tour had the chance to enjoy The Republic of Tea’s new collection of SuperGreen Teas. Organic Matcha, green tea leaves and functional herbs work together for extraordinary mind-body benefits such as boosting the immune system, improve cognitive function, aiding relaxation and weight loss. The goal of The Republic of Tea is for their tea to taste delicious with wellness as a bonus.
The Republic of Tea’s teabags are different in that they are unbleached, environmentally friendly with no tags or strings, they fit right in your cup, and are stored in an air tight tin that does not take on any aromas so that it can be re-purposed. Their teabags are gluten free, kosher and certified organic. Their tea is sourced from over 50 countries and plucked by hand to make a premium tea.
The SuperGreen Tea varietals each contain 36 tea bags and are priced at $13, making each serving only 36 cents. There are 4 varieties: Immunity, Brain Boost, Serenity, and Lean Green.
When I think about tea, I think about a slower pace. Sitting, relaxing, deep in thought, long conversations with friends. So, with that in mind I thought a Green Tea Bundt cake would be perfect to go along with a cup of The Republic of Tea Super Green Teas. I used Serenity because of it’s soothing qualities with calming lavender, holy basil (tulsi) and matcha. It’s perfect after a stressful day.
I’m obsessed with Bundt pans, so I chose to use that to make this delicious Green Tea Bundt Cake.
