DIY Watermelon Plate
I love making summer DIY’s! It’s such a fun time of the year with everything so bright and colorful. I didn’t know what to make for this month’s craftacular link up. So, the kids and I took a trip to Hobby Lobby. I figured I’d find something to inspire me.
With outdoor grilling season here, I was inspired to make this fun DIY Watermelon Plate while walking through the outdoor tableware.
Here’s what you need:
- Round Piece of Wood
- Paint in Watermelon colors: Black for seeds, Green for the rind, Reddish/Pink (or “watermelon slice” as we bought) for the watermelon.
- Sponge brushes & paint brush
- Clear acrylic sealer
Paint the outside of the circle green, when it dries paint the inside red. Let them both dry overnight.
When the red and green are dry, add the seeds! When they dry, spray with the acrylic sealer!
That’s it! Now you have a perfect DIY Watermelon Plate to enjoy at your next outdoor get together!
