The Safety 1st Grow and Go 3-in-1 Convertible Car Seat
*Our baby contributors Little Lex Adventures had the opportunity to review the Safety 1st Grow and Go 3-in-1 Convertible Car Seat. This is there opinion and it may differ from that of Momma Lew’s (although doubtful).
Our twins’ first birthday is quickly approaching and we can’t believe how quickly the time has gone. They hardly look like babies anymore and there’s little room to spare in their infant carriers, which we’ve used from the very beginning. Time to move on to big kid seats!
We now had to deal with the huge headache of buying four convertible carseats, ugh. Two for Mom’s car and two for Dad’s. It was a daunting task to find a great seat, so we checked with Reesa at Momma Lew to see if she had any suggestions.
She sure did!
Thanks to her, we had the opportunity to review the Safety 1st Grow and Go 3-in-1 Convertible Car Seat. Woohoo!
We received the car seat the day before our first family vacation to the Outer Banks. We were hesitant to take a new car seat on an 8-hour drive, but we took it out of the box just to check it out.
As soon as it was out of the box, our 20lb daughter Scout climbed right in. This came as no surprise. This girl tries to throw a leg on top of everything. She’s our resident climber.
Once she was in, she put her chubby little arms on the armrests and settled in. Our baby instantly transformed into a toddler. We couldn’t believe how much more room she had in the Grow and Go, along with the well-placed head and neck support. The padding throughout the the seat made us feel much better about the car seat transition. And best of all, it’s so easy to get them in and out. No more fighting!
After seeing how comfortable she was, we thought that an 8-hour car ride might actually be the perfect time to put the car seat to the test. Especially with Scout, because in the past, sleeping in the car hasn’t been her strong suit.
Installation was quick and smooth and before we knew it, we were set. Scout would now be riding in style!
Honestly, this car seat is like a rear-facing Lazy Boy. The seat we received is black and gray. Actually, the gray parts of the seat are tweed, which instantly made it even cooler. With two cup holders and a really simple 5-point harness, we were confident about the long ride ahead of us. We were also relieved that the seat didn’t take up too much room in the car, which meant more room for beach toys and beer!
The trip down was a success! We left in the wee hours of the morning with hopes of beating some traffic and having the babies sleep. Our sleep-champion son, Griffin, slept well, and his sister was snoozing peacefully right beside him. Even as the sun came up and shone right through their windows, she slept soundly.
However, all good things must come to end, and she woke up. To our surprise, she was happily babbling instead of crying for us to take her out of the seat.
Even after our quick stop for breakfast, she didn’t mind getting back into the car seat. That’s when Griffin let us know that he wouldn’t be going down without a fight. But one crying baby is better than two.
We gave both babies several chances to ride in the new fancy seat during our vacation, and they loved it. And so did we.
Now it’s time to get three more!
