Dr Seuss Read Across America Activities
Schools everywhere will be celebrating with Dr Seuss Read Across America activities this week in honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday on March 2nd.
There isn’t a childhood out there that was exposed to the wonderful world of Dr. Seuss. His fun tongue-twisters take children’s books to a whole new level. Even as an adult, I love to read his books. Besides being fun to read, each book offers an educational, political [Cat in the Hat] or eco-friendly [The Lorax] life-lesson type twists to them! While his collection of 60+ books may make grammar and English language critics everywhere cringe, the writing style of Dr. Seuss’s books help reinforce early reading skills through repetition and rhyming. They are also wonderful for your child who may not have found their love of reading yet with their utterly silly and characters and plots!
As you celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday this week, here are 50+ ideas for Dr. Seuss Read Across America activities for you to use at home or in your classrooms! You will find Dr. Seuss themed scrafts, recipes, free printables, party ideas, DIY ideas and more!
