5 Resources for New Bloggers
Congrats on starting your blog! There are some great resources on the web to help you reach your target audience and make your blog more appealing!
The first aspect of an appealing blog are your photos. PicMonkey is a great FREE resource that allows you to edit your pics, make collages, add text and more! For a small monthly fee you can have access to everything the site has to offer. PicMonkey is the best way to make your blog posts appealing for Pinterest as well.
2) HootSuite, Buffer, Facebook Scheduler
We all need some offline time and of course our homes and families need us too! Research shows that the best time to post on social media to your readers is between 7-9a, 3p and then again from 7-9p. Use a scheduling program to promote your posts. HootSuite, Buffer and Facebook Scheduler are all free for the basic packages.
3) Bloggers Get Social
Bloggers Get Social is an online blog class organized by Krystal’s Kitsch. When I started blogging almost 3 years ago, I learned everything by just going with the flow. There were some bumps, some successes and some redo-‘s. Bloggers Get Social is a great way to learn the ropes. I highly recommend investing in your brand! Use code BGS14 for $30 off!
4) Join a network!
“Get social” literally! Get online and “meet” other bloggers. Facebook has some amazing groups for you to work to grow you following and get ideas. I truly believe in the power of working together. Follow through and be positive. Even better, get on meetup.com or find a local group where you can meet up with other bloggers in person and brainstorm!
5) Get organized
Get yourself a planner and a pad. Write down any and every idea that comes into your head for a blog post. Save your pictures. I use many pictures from years ago that end up being relevant in a post today! Keep yourself organized by writing down when posts are due.
Want to join Bloggers Get Social for November? The next group will start on Monday November 3rd and will run until right before Thanksgiving.
