We’ve been talking a lot about kindness and doing something for someone without getting anything in return here at home with the children. The best part of a gift to me, is giving it! Sometimes all we need is a little bit of kindness to come our way. Just knowing you have been thought about is one of the best feelings in the world.
Have you ever wanted to do something sweet and special for someone, but just didn’t know how? Unfortunately, time is our enemy and there just isn’t enough of it to create homemade treats for the ones we love. Thankfully, Rich’s Bakery products make it easy, affordable and delicious! All it will take is a little creative thinking!
When we talked about WHO we wanted to surprise with our treats, both children unanimously decided on their Grandma and their friend, our neighbor. It’s very sweet to hear from pre-schoolers why someone is special to them — things like “because they take me to Olive Garden for shell noodles” or “because we have lots of fun sledding together”. It’s the simple things in life for children, that’s for sure! We all could take a cue from them, right?
It was decided we’d give some classic chocolate chip cookies.
Now, how can we take this simple, but delicious package of cookies that Rich’s Bakery made for us and make it into something extra special?
We picked up some take out boxes and a package of chalkboard tags from the Dollar Spot at Target. You can find some great, frugal items at craft stores or the dollar stores as well to help package your baked goods.
