Heading out on a camping trip? You will want to make sure you include these 15 camping must haves for a fun and safe camping trip!
The idea of camping has always been beguiling for many of us. Many have already checked camping off their bucket list and many more are excited to gulp in this adventure of nature.

I’m sharing some of my must have gear to make camping easy and fun! These essentials will come in handy for you to have an easy and memorable camping experience.
A comfortable sleeping bag:
The idea of lying down on the grass sounds good until they start pricking you on your back. Also, the temperature after sunset might drop down in nature and you may feel cold.
The presence of thermo gills on certain bags protects you from cold drafts and supports clear ventilation.
I know, the idea of sleeping under the stars is exciting but not overnight as you cannot anticipate any fluctuation in the weather. Not only does it protect you from getting drenched in rains but also guards you against any unwanted storm.
You certainly don’t want to risk yourself hypothermia, right? The size of the tent is completely your choice depending on the number of your companions.
Water filters and Cans:
You cannot risk missing out on this. Though you are heading into nature, it is not guaranteed that the water streams are not contaminated with bacteria. You need to be practical and very careful about your health when you are out there in nature.
Always keep a water-can handy near your tent.
Magnesium bar or a fire starter:
The idea of having a camping experience without a campfire and a BBQ is not invigorating at all. Having fire starters must be the basics of your camping plan.
Now, if you think that you are all alone in a forest near a river or a hill then wait, you may be wrong. Smoke keeps the animals away unless you want to say hello!
No matter you go camping for a day or two. If you have a prescriptions to follow, take them along. You have to acknowledge that nature is very unpredictable and you never know what comes handy. Pack your things right.
Your first-aid needs to have all the necessary essentials like scissors, band-aid, mosquito repellents, emergency whistle, torch, and so on. It may sound a lot even just for an overnight camping trip, but hey, it’s clever to be prepared all the time.
So how do you plan on preparing that BBQ of yours without a knife? It doesn’t matter a normal knife or a pocket knife, it helps. Think about if you go fishing or maybe just for your safety? A pocket knife can help even under circumstances you least expect.
If you have planned to march on an adventure that is a little away and in a remote location, a navigation system is most likely to guide you all along your way.
The orientation of the sun is not the same all day and the landmarks that you may have registered in the day might not look the same by evening. Hence, to not stray your way and stick to a right and safe route, a navigation tool is must-have gear for your camping.
Flashlight or a torch:
Now you may think that the campfire will suffice your visibility needs. But wait, have you wondered how far the light may reach? 7 feet maximum. A torch or a flashlight helps you see and examine far away things.
A productive cooler:
A camping feat with family demands for a lot of food. Especially kids! I believe you don’t want them crying somewhere out there in nature for running out of food. A productive cooler stores your food in the most efficient way without spilling and damaging them overnight.
Your casual shoe is less likely to grip the ground unlike the trekking ones. If you have planned your camping experience in the mountains then you definitely need a pair of trekking shoes to sustain the grounds. Their firm grip assists in providing the much-needed balance while climbing a steep region.
If you have planned on a camping trip with your loved one, make sure you have this in your backpack. The straps could be around 9 feet long and comfortable for two. This cozy accessory adds to the beauty of the entire activity.
We are accustomed to the climate in the city but may discover that the temperature out under the open sky is a little tough on our skin. An SPF 30 sunscreen lotion would shield you from the sun rays preventing any rashes on your skin. Bugs or mosquitoes are not the only insects you have to protect your skin from in nature.
Last but not least, a pair of soft socks is important for you at night. Camping could get really exhausting at the end of the day and you unquestionably need a good night’s sleep. A pair of soft socks not only cushion your feet but also defend you from the insects around.
