The average guest at Walk Disney World walks about 6 to 10 miles a day. You will definitely want to be prepared to be walking this distance when visiting the Disney parks.
How to Stay Comfortable in Walt Disney World
I participated in this campaign on behalf of Wendy’s Bloggers. I received SelectFlex orthotics to facilitate my post, but my opinions and creative content are my own. #SFSole
Don’t forget sunscreen! I like to buy a stick for our faces and a spray for our bodies.
A hat. We do not like the sun beating down on our faces. For me, it’s a sure fire way to a headache.
Stay hydrated! Either stock up on bottles of water or reusable water bottles and refill them throughout the day at the water fountains or ask any dining counter for cups of ice water (free).
Wear good shoes! I know I have caught myself becoming obsessed with the adorable Disney outfits all over Instagram, but the reality of it is, I know there is no way I would survive wearing flip flops or unsupportive shoes. Invest in a good pair of sneakers a few weeks before your trip. Break them in. There is nothing worse than finding out after walking for a bit that your shoes are far from comfortable. I have been there and it really is the perfect way to ruin your trip!
Wear SelectFlex Orthotics. Both my husband and I wore our SelectFlex Orthotics throughout our Disney World stay. Both my husband and I suffer from foot pain. My husband is on his feet all day at work and I have very high arches. So needless to say, the thought of walking this much throughout our Disney World trip was a little concerning.
Over 75% of Americans will experience foot problems at one point or another in their lives. Misalignment of your foot arch can lead to a great risk for low back pain, painful feet, Plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, bunions, corns, restricted blood flow, swelling in the feet and legs, varicose veins, and increased chance of knee and hip arthritis. Did you know that 25% of all the bones in the human body are down in your feet. When these bones are out of alignment, so is the rest of your body.
I had the chance to meet the CEO of SelectFlex, Barry Renow, on the last Mom Blog Tour in Anaheim, California. I truly enjoyed hearing the passion Barry has for this product and how SelectFlex plans to bring comfort to people just like you and I! SelectFlex® and iFlex Technology™ has partnered with one of the most globally respected names in lower extremity solutions Orthotic Holdings, Inc. to engineer a technology that is field-proven, wear tested, and ready for wide release to the US consumer population where foot issues are pervasive across demographies.
So how does SelectFlex work?
There are 3 adjustment levels of Flexural Arch Support (world’s only instantly adjustable orthotic). Did you know that 20% of the population have different sized arches? SelectFlex is the only orthotic where you can customize each support to your foot’s different needs.
Tips from Barry: Start your SelectFlex Orthotics at a level 1 and gradually move up as needed.
With the amount of walking we did throughout the four days we spent at the Disney World theme parks, my husband and I kept commenting to each other how great our feet felt and how lucky we felt to have our SelectFlex Orthotics!
