Hot Dogs with Spicy Slaw
I am so thrilled the warmer weather is here! I am always looking for new ways to make classic dishes a little bit different. When it comes to grilling, things can get a little boring with the just hamburgers and hotdogs. That’s why I thought it would be fun to add a little bit more flavor to the traditional hot dog with this Spicy Slaw recipe!
My favorite way to add some heat? Colman’s Mustard! I first tried Colman’s last summer and it’s become a favorite in my kitchen since.
1/2 cup chopped cabbage
1/2 cup chopped purple cabbage
1/2 cup chopped kale
2 large carrots peeled and julienned
For the Slaw dressing, mix together:
2 heaping tbsp Colman’s Mustard
1 tbsp sesame oil
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 rice or red wine vinegar
salt and pepper
Fold the dressing into a large bowl with the cabbage, kale and carrots. Refrigerate prior to serving for the flavors to meld together.
This Spicy Slaw is perfect because you can prepare it the night before your BBQ! Colman’s describes their mustard as if Wasabi and Cayenne had a baby, making it the easiest and most delicious way to add some heat to your dishes!
After your hot dogs are done on the grill, sandwich them on your favorite roll, give them a heaping topping of your Spicy Slaw and good splash of ketchup and Colman’s Mustard.
