While your child’s school may seem to have it all together, I can assure you they need all the help they can get! With so many parents busting at the seems today with things they need to take care of, less and less parents are getting involved in their child’s school. By being involved in your child’s school, it keeps you informed and you become a familiar face to your child’s classmates. Plus, an involved parent is often found to have a more independent student that is overall more successful in school.
3 Ways to Help Your Child’s School
Volunteer as a class parent.
Teachers need extra help for little things here and there. Sending out emails to parents for reminders, collecting field trip forms, chaperoning, reading to the class or just being an extra adult in the classroom to offer assistance.
Get involved in your school’s PTO/PTA.
Your child’s school doesn’t need much from you, just a few hours a month to help run the events they put together to make your child’s school life enhanced. They need help at book fairs, picture day, holiday events and even would love to see you at meetings to give your opinion on upcoming matters.
When you purchase school pictures, books at the book fair and from other school fundraisers, your school receives a percentage back. Another easy way to help your school is with the Box Tops for Education program.
Last year, my children’s school was able to cash in over $4,000 worth of Box Tops! That money will be used towards things like new equipment and technology for the school, books for the classroom, help subsidize field trips for the students and more! Each Box Top is worth .10 cents.
I am always shocked when I hear parents tell me they don’t collect them. So many of Reynolds Consumer Products brands participate in Box Tops, so it’s easy to find them on products you already use and buy!
Get ready for school in the Hefty and Reynolds Box Tops for Education “School Supplied” sweepstakes and daily instant win game. They’re giving away thousands of product prizes PLUS 10,000 eBoxTops to 5 lucky schools!! Enter to win here: www.heftyreynoldsboxtops.com
