Battle of the Bands at Dorney Park

Dorney Park’s inaugural Battle of the Bands is a contest where several musical acts will compete for the title of best band and the opportunity to perform a Musikfest this August.
When I heard about Battle of the Bands, I had no idea that it was going to be local bands from a younger demographic (think teens/late teens). That was a really cool surprise! It is always so awesome to see the talents of young people, especially in music. Throughout the park, members of the bands and those with them were wearing these cool “Battle of the Bands Backstage Passes” around their neck, kind of like they were on tour. Loved that!
Dorney Park’s Battle of the Bands started at 6p with local band Project 32 who was followed by Water Street. The bands’ 60 minute set is competing for a $200 weekly cash prize as well! Like I said, this was the final week and Water Street was voted to go to the finals at Musikfest in August! At Musikfest, they will compete for a $400 cash prize!
If you’re a local musician or the parent of a musician, you’ll want to tell them about this awesome experience now. This way they have a full year to practice and get ready for Battle of the Bands 2017!
