Fun at Dorney Park

This past weekend we had the opportunity to take a quick road trip to Dorney Park in Allentown, PA. The last time I had been to Dorney was well over 20 years ago with my high school’s music program. I found it quite funny when we arrived there were multiple groups of high school music programs at the park that day enjoying end of the year fun.
Now that both of the kids are in school, I feel like we don’t get the fun time like we used to have. I was really excited to offer them this experience of visiting Dorney Park and they were really excited to go!
Dorney is about an hour and a half from my home, which wasn’t too bad of a trip. We found parking right away when we got there and once we were inside, the fun began!
When they were looking over the Dorney Park website, the kids were very adamant about visiting Planet Snoopy. Planet Snoopy was conveniently located right in the middle of the park, which I thought was really very smart because if you have older children with you, you are able to take turns on bigger rides and visiting the rides in Planet Snoopy. Dorney Park had some of the coolest rollercoasters I have ever seen. I was really wishing I had another adult with me so I could have checked them out!
There are about 16 different rides in Planet Snoopy and we spent well over 2 hours in there. There’s also a Snoopy show that we missed and meet and greets with Snoopy himself!
Of course, we took a visit to the souvenir shop, which I couldn’t resist!
Once we were finished with the rides in Planet Snoopy, we got some snacks and played some carnival games. There are a ton of different food options throughout the park. I really liked how Dorney offered a meal plan called “All Day Dining” that you could purchase before your trip. It allows you to get food every 90 minutes on the day of your trip.
Unfortunately, Wildwater Kingdom did not open to the day after our trip. But, it is included in your park ticket. The kids and I are hoping to make another visit so that we can take advantage of Wildwater Kingdom!
