Rock the Holidays with Music Freedom

As we get closer to Christmas, the kids and I are getting really excited. Gifts have all been bought and now it is time for fun! We have a whole slew of events planned with friends and family over the next few weeks. Our annual cookie decorating party is this week and the kids are just busting at the seams to have their friends over to celebrate the season with them.

After hosting these parties with our friends after a few years, I have become a bit of an expert at what not to do when it comes to decorating cookies with little kids.

Preparing for our party:

First and foremost, keep it simple. I make one type of cookie and offer a limited number of decorations and frosting. This keeps the mess at a minimum and since all of the kids have the same supplies, there is no sense of competition.

Second, every party needs music! Some of my best memories of the Christmas season involved my favorite Christmas songs and I love that my own children are making memories with them as well.

Lucky for this mom, I got an early Christmas present that allowed me some music freedom. I have been shopping for a new phone and phone plan for sometime now. We were doing some holiday shopping at Walmart and the large selection of wireless devices caught our eye. After talking with the customer service representative, we chose the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Core Prime with the monthly T-Mobile Simple Choice™ prepaid plan.

TMobile at WalmartI have been feeling like I use my mobile device more and more to stream music, but unfortunately the costs just keep going up for me as I find myself exhausting my data plan. The “Music Freedom” feature of the Simple Choice plans allows me to stream an unlimited quantity of music at high speed without using any of my data.

This couldn’t have come at a better time between our cookie decorating party, our Christmas Eve and Christmas Day celebrations and lets not forget New Years! In other words, we are going to be playing a lot of music! Music Freedom will let us stream from Spotify, Pandora, iTunes and other music apps as much as we want! There is nothing worse than being in the middle of a party and your data runs out.

It took less than 5 minutes to get my T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Core Prime set up with Simple Choice™ prepaid plan.

Our Cookie Decorating Party:

Like I said, I make one type of cookie for all of the kids to decorate. I love to make things that will leave an extra special memory in the kid’s minds. So this year, we are making these adorable Rudolph Cookies.

Easy Rudolph Cookies

To make the Rudolph cookies, start with your favorite Gingerbread recipe. Here is mine:

Cute cookies! I have to keep deleting music off my phone because it sucks up too much space! LOL

I’ve been listening to music non-stop on the radio and certain songs totally take me back to my home as a child and the fun we had decorating the tree. I could even feel the warmth of the living room and see the lights from the tree.

    I’m totally making those cookies!

These cookies look both delicious and easy to make. For some reason, I am intimidated by cut out cookies and I tend to make drop cookies… I think that I hate to roll them out because the dough sticks to the roller.

The best thing to prevent that is lots of flour on the roller and your cookie cutters!
