As we start the new year, one of my goals is to spend more time taking care of myself. In 2015, I think it is safe to say I really let myself go mentally, emotionally and physically. The new year brings new beginnings and this is a great time to turn over a new leaf. As I was doing my monthly shopping trip at Sam’s Club, I realized that it was the perfect place to get all of my own needs as well.
Here are 5 Ways Moms Can Take Care of Themselves at Sam’s Club:
Buying my favorite snacks like yogurt, nutrition bars, nuts, fruits and vegetables are easy at Sam’s Club. The items always look fresh and appetizing and buying them in bulk, insure I do not run out quickly. One thing I learned when I am eating well is that if I have a healthy snack in the house, I will eat that versus it’s unhealthy counterpart.
As a busy mom with two busy little kids, sometimes dinner isn’t always easy to get on the table. I love that Sam’s Club has options like salmon and rotisserie chickens that I can pick up, enabling me to get a healthy quick meal on the table.
Sadly, after I became a mom, I realized I often forgot to buy many of the personal care items I needed on a daily basis. I was so busy making sure I had enough diapers, wipes and formula that I often forgot to buy myself razors, feminine care items and the vitamins I need to take on a daily basis. It’s so much easier to get a 2-3 month supply of something versus needing to remember to buy it every little shopping trip I do.
I realized one day after battling a never ending headache that my day consisted mostly of coffee. I couldn’t even remember the last time I had a glass of water! I keep a case of water in my house now and one in my car. Sam’s Club has a variety of options for water and I even am able to pick up smaller bottles for the kids to keep in their lunchboxes.
Books, Magazines and Things for YOU!
As a work-at-home-mom, I was finding myself on the computer way more time than I think is healthy. It’s so easy to get sucked into answering emails, browsing Facebook and Pinterest. When was the last time I read an actual book or picked up a magazine? I used to love doing these things. They were relaxing and helped settle me down when I was full of anxiety or feeling stressed. One of my favorite areas at Sam’s Club is the book and magazine area. There are always some great titles that I have never seen before and even today’s best sellers at a lower price than I would get elsewhere.
