2014 Chevrolet Ride and Drive Event at Hershey Park
My favorite “Sweetest Place on Earth”, Hershey Park recently hosted the Chevrolet Ride and Drive Event. Chevrolet is a sponsor of Hershey Park and being how both companies are right around the same age (Chevy at 11o years old and Hershey at 108), this was a great time to celebrate making memories!
I was given the super family-friendly Chevy Tahoe to test drive for a week and get road tripping with to Hershey. The Chevy Tahoe was something pretty spectacular and truly blew us away. Because of that, it deserves it’s own separate post, so you can look for that very soon.
We live approximately 2 hours outside of Hershey, but without traffic the ride was well over 3 hours. With 3 kids in the car (my neighbors came along with us for their first ever Hershey trip), it could have gotten rough. Thank goodness for the Tahoe’s extra room, built in DVD/Blu-Ray player and Navigation system!
On the tram from the parking lot to the Hershey front gate.
The Ride and Drive Event was completely free right outside the Hershey Park gates. Myself and a group of local bloggers were briefed about some of Chevrolet’s newest cars and features and what to expect in the future. When it comes to American household names, Chevrolet is an original!
The goal of this event had nothing to do with sales. It was an informal setting for park-goers to test drive the Chevy line-up. Cars included the all-new Volt – Chevy’s electric model, the Spark – Chevy’s smallest model in the fleet, and everyone’s favorite to drive: The Corvette Stingray. Park goers definitely loved getting the once in a lifetime experience of driving the Corvette, based on the way they were burning tires and putting the petal to the metal in the course. Good for them! Memories made for sure!
The Chevrolet Ride and Drive event was based on the making memories at Hershey Park. I’ve been making memories since I was a small child at Hershey. It’s one of my favorite places to visit and I am so glad to be able to continue doing so with my own children. We were lucky enough to be able to make this visit with my neighbors and my children’s best friend. It was their first trip to Hershey, so this trip had some extra special memories for all.
These souvenir cups were awesome. It was very hot and for $9.99 for the cup, we got to refill it as much as we wanted for only 99 cents. Hershey Park also offers free water at any concession stand.
