Taking care of ourselves as moms is so important. I have always felt that a happy mom means a happy family. We are the glue that holds our families together and if we are falling apart than there is no way things will run smoothly!
In my almost six years as a mom, I have learned a few things about self-care for myself. Trust me, I still am overwhelmed most days, but just trying to remember to at least do 1 of these 4 things helps me from self-imploding. No one warned me I was going to feel this way!
- One of my major downfalls was feeling like I had to do EVERYTHING for EVERYONE all the time. Once I let go of that idea and ASKED FOR HELP, it was like a load of bricks off of my shoulders.
- Of course, learning to COMMUNICATE and verbalize why I was feeling so overwhelmed helped too.
- I am fortunate that parenting is a TWO-WAY street for my family, so letting my husband take things on and respecting his decisions as a parent was helpful as well.
- Take time for myself.
