We’ve all been there. Your doctor, whether your general practioner or your pediatrician, is not in the office. You are sick and feeling awful and you get the answering machine. Your heart sinks knowing you will have to wait out the night and wake up early to get on the phone first thing with the doctor. Now, The Doctor On Demand App is here to save the day.
The Doctor On Demand App is available to download for free either in the iTunes App Store or in Google Play. I recently had the chance to check out Doctors On Demand App for myself and although I wasn’t sick at the time, I am really excited to have this resource right at my finger tips!
After downloading the app and registering yourself and family members, you are ready for your call.
The information collected is the same that your Doctor would ask in a visit.
What blew me away about my Doctor On Demand phone call was that it was a live video chat. I loved that I was able to see a live person — Dr. Christopher Bailey — in his office, while I was at home. It added a much more personable quality to the app that made me feel very comfortable. I also liked that I was able to add doctors to my “favorites” list to use next time.
A little bit more about the Doctor On Demand app:
- All doctors are US licensed and board certified, and background checked.
- The cost is $40 per call and each call lasts 15 minutes.
Let’s face it, we are all busy people! No one wants to take the time away from their life to sit in a doctor’s office for hours on end. The Doctor On Demand app is perfect for:
- A non-emergency medical issue such as: cold, cough, flu or allergies, rash, pink eye, bladder infections, and any other non-life threatening issue.
- Pediatric questions. I know as a new mom, I felt like I had questions I could have asked my Pediatrician every day about!
- Short-term prescription refills,
- Referral to a specialist.
While Doctor On Demand are highly educated, please keep in mind that some emergency situations always require either 911 or the emergency room. So, do not use the app if you or someone in your home is experiencing chest pain or pressure, a broken bone, seizures, poisoning, any sort of serious head, neck, or back injury as examples.
