Part of our bedtime routine is watching “one more show” before we head off to the bedroom for the night. I like to have the kids watch a show that is soothing and calming to help their little minds start to unwind. Recently we started watching the adaptation of Joyce Dunbar’s classic story – The Adventures of Mouse and Mole. Originally a BBC program, Mouse and Mole is a delightful television show. Mouse and Mole are two friends who live together in the countryside. While Mouse is cheerful and practical, Mole is shy and worrisome. Each episode comes with a central lesson — how two friends with opposite personalities can work together to overcome their problems.
The animation of The Adventures of Mouse and Mole is just beautiful done in watercolor illustrations. The voices of Mouse and Mole are calm and soothing and each story is very simple. Although the program is designed for children ages 3 and up, I believe you will find the whole family enjoying the lovely friendship of Mouse and Mole!
We are currently going through Volume 1 and episodes include:
- Preposterous Puddle
- Tidying Up
- The Daffodil
- Least Expecting
- The Picnic
- The Hammock
- Half A Banana
- Catch A Falling Leaf
