Have your ever imagined there was a place just 9 minutes from New York City where you could be transported back into time and walk among the dinosaurs? Well there is. Field Station Dinosaurs in Secaucus, NJ. Home of over 30 life-sized dinosaurs, Field Station: Dinosaurs offers visitors to be transported back to the time when Dinosaurs ruled the Earth through sight & sounds. The park is located on a twenty acre park and features a 3/4 mile trail.

We had the opportunity to visit Field Station: Dinosaurs on a beautiful sunny June day. Had it not been so beautiful out, the park is still open to visitors and you will receive a rain poncho so you can still enjoy your visit.
There’s more than just viewing the life-sized robotic dinosaurs. We got to the park just as the Dragons to Dinosaurs show was starting and we got to meet T-Rex:
The movie Dinosaurs Alive: 3D is a great way to get out of the sun for a little bit. This is an extra charge, but the film was very interesting as it takes you along a discovery expedition in Mongolia and New Mexico. Throughout the day there are numerous group discussions, workshops and games along the dinosaur trail.
Parking at Field Station: Dinosaurs is $10 per car and is also just a 10 minute walk from Secaucus Train Station. After June 27th they will be open everyday, but right now they are open on weekends only from 10a-6p. We visited around 4pm and it was not crowded at all and we had ample time to visit & see the 3D movie. Although the park is hilly and rocky in some spots, wheelchairs & strollers are accessible and available to rent if need be. We chose not to use our stroller for my 2 year old and she was just fine walking around on her own. Throughout the park there are food and drink to purchase, but you are able to bring your own picnic if you would like. If it is sunny like the day we visited, make sure to bring a hat, sunscreen and bug spray.
For discount tickets, you can purchase online the night before. There are several ticket options ranging in price from $17.50 to $40.00.
